Our program

At Code Blossom, we currently offer two educational tracks: software development and AI.

Within each track, we offer various programs such as Full Stack Software Development, Classical Machine Learning, or Data Analytics.

Additionally, all students, regardless of which track they are studying in, go through a curriculum of soft skills classes. Read more about our program and community activities below.

Track: Software Development

In our main program, the software development track, we offer two certification modules: Full Stack Software Development and Coding Fundamentals.

The Full Stack module is our original and longest-running module, which we’ve successfully run in multiple countries.
Coding Fundamentals, our newest module, is currently in the proof-of-concept stage, with two pilot classes running.

Track: AI

In our second track, AI, we offer two modules so far:

The Classical ML module is aimed at upskilling participants who are already working in the tech industry. Our goal is to help them grow and improve their career.

The Data Analysis module, on the other hand, is suitable for both participants with existing tech experience and beginners and career shifters.

Currently, we are preparing an AI & Digital Skills program for women in Kenya who own and/or run a small business. More on this soon - stay tuned!

Beyond Coding Sessions

Beyond Coding delivers what it says on the label:

At Code Blossom, we go further than “just” teaching technical skills. In these sessions, we teach our students invaluable skills that ensure they will thrive in a tech team and grow in their personal development. Because we believe that “soft skills” are actually power skills.

These sessions are taught across all tracks and are mandatory sessions for all our students.

The Beyond Coding sessions are useful for more than just the coding journey and becoming software developers. You take what you learn from Beyond Coding and apply it to your whole life. It helps you become comfortable with being uncomfortable, makes it easier to talk to people you don’t know, and encourages you to open up and share.
Code Blossom is truly a safe space. I really appreciate all the extra work that goes into supporting our learning journeys. It makes it easier to continue studying, because it is a lot of work. If we didn’t have this extra support, I think most of us would have eventually said, ‘I tried, it’s fine, I can stop now.’ But the amazing support we get from everyone, not just our mentors but also Nadia and Marion, is incredibly encouraging.

Community activities

We offer various community activities, some of them mandatory, some of them optional, to round out our program offering.

  • Monthly all-hands calls: Here we bring our global community together for organizational updates, motivational activities, and most importantly, project showcases by our amazing students.

  • Hackathons: We frequently organize community hackathons to give our students the chance to practice coding in a team and improve their problem-solving and project management skills.

  • Book clubs (optional): Another very beloved but optional format we offer is our weekly book club, in which we read and discuss inspirational books that help our students’ personal development.

  • Mock interviews: Our ultimate goal is for our brilliant students to enter the tech job market. To help them prepare for their job search, we conduct mock interviews with all students who are about to graduate.

All of our students also participate in weekly check-in calls with their personal mentor and group calls with a mentor and other students.
